What can I expect?
Although the official meeting starts at 5pm on Sundays, we gather a little early to sip some coffee and enjoy some good conversation.
We begin with a song, usually about God or directed to him. If you don’t know the song it’s ok—sing along with the words provided or just sit back and listen. Then we have a 20-30 minute talk based on a text from the Bible, with the goal of being clear and applicable to our lives. After that we sing a few more songs of worship to God and have a time for people to give or receive prayer. Once a month, we also observe the Christian tradition of the Lord’s Supper together in remembrance of Jesus’s last meal with his disciples and his death on the cross. Then we close with a final song. Overall, things tend to be fairly relaxed and un-hyped.
After church, people usually go out for dinner, coffee, or drinks to just hang out. We value our time together—far beyond the scheduled meeting times.
