Pastor

Rodger Otero pastors Greenleaf Vineyard Church. He and his wife, Angela, planted Greenleaf in Chapel Hill in summer 2007. Before planting the church, they lived in Augusta, Georgia, and served on staff with Vineyard Community Church as intern pastors. It was in their first years of marriage that Rodger and Angela heard God’s call to plant a church, so Rodger attended Vineyard Leadership Institute through distance courses while serving five years at Vineyard Community Church as a worship leader, home group leader, and intern as well as teaching full time and earning his teacher certification through the state of Georgia.

Rodger and Angela met while attending Georgia College & State University in Milledgeville, Georgia, in 1998. There Rodger earned his bachelors in Spanish with a minor in English. Rodger’s family now lives in Conyers, Georgia, where he attended high school, but they all claim San Diego as their home town. Rodger loves the arts, especially music, and on those rare days when he has free time you will find him tucked away in their back room with his guitar.
