Angela Otero
Pastor
Angela Otero pastors Greenleaf Vineyard Church with her husband, Rodger. The Oteros planted Greenleaf in Chapel Hill in summer 2007. Before planting the church, they lived in Augusta, Georgia, and served on staff with Vineyard Community Church as intern pastors. It was in their first years of marriage that Rodger and Angela heard God’s call to plant a church; Angela began classes with Vineyard Leadership Institute in 2003 and plans to continue classes until she graduates . . . eventually. She served five years at Vineyard Community Church as a home group leader, administrator, and intern while teaching high school honors English and whatever else got thrown at her each year. She currently works as the Assistant Building Manager at the Bank of America Center on Franklin St.—a much more exciting job than it sounds like.
Angela and Rodger met while attending Georgia College & State University in Milledgeville, Georgia, in 1998. There Angela earned her bachelors in English and used all of her electives to take more English classes. Angela’s family lives in Augusta, Georgia, where she was born, adopted, and raised. Angela loves reading, gardening, and nature. When she has free time you can find her on the couch with a book, spying through binoculars on birds and deer outside, or in the garden with her hands dirty and full of weeds and compost.
