Children & Youth

Welcome to Kids Church!

“Greenleaf kids are the best loved kids in Chapel Hill and Carrboro. We mean it! I don’t mind bragging. Come for a visit and you’ll see why.” ~ Angela Otero, pastor

What can I expect on a Sunday morning?

We have lots of fun with children from 6 months through 5th grade! When you get here, you’ll sign-in with your teacher and meet the teacher’s assistant for your age. While you’re here you’ll play, pray, hear a story from the Bible, sing, dance & worship, make crafts, learn about Jesus, and make new friends! Our Kids Church rooms open at 9:45am, and your teacher and assistant will be here with you until your parent comes back to pick you up, usually around 11:30am.

Who are my teachers?

Your teachers each week are committed members of Greenleaf who are excited about children and helping you learn more about Jesus! All of your teachers have undergone training and background checks, and many of them are professional educators and/or professional moms and dads!

What about a Infants? What about Youth?

We warmly welcome babies under 6 months and children over 11 years to come with their parents to the adult service. We simply ask parents to use their own sensitivity and discretion when deciding where to sit and when to step out with an exuberant little one.

Greenleaf Kids Ministry exists to:

  • Honor God through providing a setting where God’s littlest people can learn how to be genuine Jesus followers and where we encourage them to do the stuff of the Kingdom of God.
  • Love the Community through facilitating the evangelical gift that kids naturally have and encouraging their ability to love people and create meaningful relationships in the pure way that adults can forget.
  • Live like Family by treating every member of Kids Church (children, teachers, assistants, and parents) as a valuable, safe, and welcome part of the Greenleaf family.

It is our vision that the children of Greenleaf learn how to live their lives in a way that honors God. We hope to foster family-like relationships for the children within our church community, and to encourage a passion for reaching out in love and kindness to those who don’t yet know Jesus. As our church grows we want continue to be a vibrant, multi-age children’s ministry, continuing to offer Kids Church on Sundays and also providing opportunities for weekly/monthly projects, get-togethers, outreaches, and fellowship times for families.
