Advent, the 40 days before Christmas, is a special time of year. It’s a sacred season of anticipation.
Instead of jumping directly into the story with the birth of Jesus, Christians throughout the centuries have intentionally slowed down and entered into the pre-Christ world, into the darkness that awaited the great light. As Isaiah wrote centuries before:
The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned. (Isaiah 9:2)
You’re invited to join us as we celebrate the birth of Christ each week in December in our songs, sermons, and prayers. Each Sunday of Advent we’ll be celebrating the traditional advent themes of HOPE, PEACE, JOY, and LOVE in the culminating weeks of our spiritual formation series, The Gift of Forgiveness:
12/1 – Forgiveness means God takes away our sin, which gives us HOPE for the future.
12/8 – Forgiveness means we can forgive the sins of others, which opens up the door for PEACE.
12/15 – When we forgive, we will be forgiven, which results in great and boundless JOY.
12/22 – Forgiveness makes room for reconciliation, re-establishing LOVE as the foundation of our relationships with God and others.
